Reporting Relationships

Direct to Vice President, Operations

General Description

The Plant Manager will be responsible for developing and leading a World Class production workforce. The primary function will be to position, align and direct all of the manufacturing resources needed to meet company goals and objectives. Manage multi-shift resources effectively to meet output requirements and cost targets. Assist direct reports in meeting production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assumes shared responsibility for manufacturing performance, along with subordinate personnel.

• Lead the workforce by setting expectations, training, coaching, motivating, mentoring and positive, supportive evaluation of performance. Delegate responsibilities and ensure shared accountability at every level.

• Understand the company’s strategic imperatives and shape a manufacturing capability that supports the corporate plan..

• Attain profitability targets and cash flow objectives through effective budgeting, careful asset/financial management, and minimization of redundant functions.

• Participate with a top-level, collaborative leadership team to develop standardized operating practices, cost measures and reporting routines.

• Establish and implement manufacturing and capacity utilization plans/practices to balance workloads, maximize the use of existing capacity and enhance efficiency/profitability of operations.

• Understand ERP Systems and the reporting process

• Sustain and administer continuous improvement activities that will drive Lean methodology and Six Sigma quality throughout the organization.

• Establish baselines for cost, quality, delivery and other key metrics; set up standard measurement and reporting routines to track progress against targeted improvements.

• Coordinate activities with Inventory, Production, HR and Purchasing.

• Actively participate in new product planning to assure quality is built into all new products.

• Attain velocity improvements, which meet or exceed our competition and promote the competitive selling advantage of these gains.

Education and Experience:

• Proven ability to lead, manage and direct multiple manufacturing operations, with a minimum of 10-15 years of directly related experience with 2-3 companies.

• Experience with P&L.

• Record of success as a “change agent.”

• History of finding, hiring and developing top talent.

• Experience with different cultures and environments.

• A degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Business Management or a related field. MBA a plus.

Compensation

A lucrative compensation package, including performance-based incentive compensation, will be afforded the qualified and exceptional candidate. Relocation package offered.
