PHYSICAL LAYOUT

A way to affect work flow and productivity through the physical placement of machinery or furniture. Production machinery should be grouped in a cellular arrangement based on product requirements, not process type. Similarly, in an office environment, furniture should be arranged for efficient flow of information or services rather than strictly defined departments.
