FLOW PRODUCTION
Describes how goods, services or information is processed. It is,
at its best, one piece at a time. See One-Piece Flow. The flow may
consist of a parts, documents, invoices, customer orders, etc. It
rejects the concept of batch, lot or mass processing. Flow production
vertically integrates all operations and functions as operationally
or sequentially performed. It encompasses pull or demand production.
If all waste is removed, it might be the value stream.
