Our team members bring unparalleled expertise as executives, managers
and technical professionals. Each lean manufacturing consultant
has proven experience in managing strategic planning and organizational
change and applying Lean and Six Sigma business practices to create
world-class performance. Our business consultants are recognized
leaders in building and facilitating interdisciplinary teams that
are able to develop creative, cost-effective solutions to the difficult
challenges faced by managers in today's competitive business climate.
Rick L. Smith, President
Rick
has more than 34 years of experience in world class technologies
such as Lean Assessment, Value Stream Mapping, Lean Implementation
Coaching, Kaizen Improvement Programs, and Six Sigma.
He has helped companies from a diverse range of manufacturing environments
become more competitive by implementing Lean Business Practices
and Kaizen Events. His hands-on involvement and in-depth knowledge
of large-scale change – combined with his local, state and
federal manufacturing regulatory knowledge – have proved to
be invaluable to clients. Rick also has a long history of working
with state-funded programs, including the California ETP.
Rick has an educational background in Mechanical Engineering, and
is a Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) and Registered Environmental
Assessor (REA).
Rick Brad P. Muir, Chief Operating Officer
Brad has over 25 years experience implementing World Class/Lean technologies and Lean culture transformations. Brad has extesive knowledge in managing the entire value chain; including materials and processes, training and implementing supply chain management, production and operations, and effecting positive change within an organization.
Brad has a long tenure as a Lean expert, and has held several positions of excecutive level management in the Aerospace, defense, sheet metal and service industries. In these roles, Brad focused on process improvements through implementing Lean methodologies, training teams, designing and reconfiguring facility layout as well as leading other successful strategic projects. He is credited with saving companies tens of millions of dollars by increasing productivity, decreasing costs of products and services, and reducing lead time substanatially. He has instituted standard work and training that has proved to sustain the improvements made, decrease re-work and increase quality. Brad has dedicated his career to being both a life-long student of the Lean concepts as well as a recognized professional of their implementation.
Brad has a BS degree from Weber State University in Manufacturing Engineering. He is a certified Journeyman Machinist and Manufacturing Engineer (CME). Mr. Muir is also a Site Examiner for the Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence.
Trina A. Green
Director
of Administration, Trina, is responsible for leading our administrative
team which includes our office operations, accounting, human resources
and recruiting services. Trina has over 25 years’ experience
in a variety of roles, includes sales and marketing, Lean Administration,
in-house training, office/operations management, accounting, workshop
coordination and more recently as our Recruiting and Placement Manager.
Trina has successfully placed Quality Managers, Production Managers,
Lean Specialists, VP Supply Chain, VP Manufacturing, Operations
Managers, Plant Managers and General Managers and a variety of technical
professionals within our clients’ organizations. Trina’s
in-depth knowledge of business consulting services, business education
and human resource management affords a seasoned perspective to
her work.
Trina attended Stevens Henager Business College and Weber State
University. She has been involved in local Society of Manufacturing
Engineers (SME) programs to promote continuous improvement. She
is also certified as a Lean Manager in Administrative and Service
Programs.
Timothy W. Winder
Tim Winder is a Senior Consultant with an expertise in Materials Management, Inventory Control, Production Management and Performance Measurement; all with a Lean focus. Tim works frequentlly with executives and managers who want to get a handle on their business. Tim has worked to create and simplify computer systems to plan, measure and strategically balance supply and demand.
Tim has trained company employees in the use of visual material systems. He works with several programs to monitor inventory systems to reduce inventory and increase inventory turns. Tim has been involved in many warehouse layout and design projects where his layout expertise and 5S experience have saved companies millions of dollars.
He has more than 35 years experience in a variety of positions including Vice President - Operations, General Manager, and Plant Manager. He is a graduate of Weber State Unversity with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Utah State University with an MBA.
Gary L. High
Gary High is a Senior Consultant with over 30 years experience in the manufacturing world. He has devoted
his career to implementing World Class technologies such as
Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen Events, Six Sigma, Setup Reduction
and Facilities Layout. Gary has
helped companies with facilities layout and design, cellular design, kanban and pull systems. He is considered a 5S Housekeeping "Guru" by our clients.
Gary has held positions in manufacturing management and engineering for various industries, including machining, fabrication, sporting goods and aerospace. He works with numerious clients setting up cellular manufacturing. He utilizes Kaizen and 5S to implement "quick" changes and improvements in focused areas.
Gary holds a bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Weber State University. He is certified by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
Kim Dixon
Kim is a Senior Consultant with over 25 years experience in manufacturing, service and health industries. He has been focused in Administrative Lean, production, quality control and project management. Kim has overseen successful layout and design projects in over a hundred client companies.
Kim's capabilities come from his diverse background with expertise in self-directed work teams, new product introduction, facilities design and implementation as well as quality control.
Kim holds a bachelors degree in manufacturing engineering from Weber State University and an associates degree in computer-aided design. He is a frequent speaker and training facilitator.
Glenn Jensen
Glenn
Jensen is a Senior Consultant, Human Resources and Organizational
Development. He has extensive experience helping companies change
from traditional to World Class/Lean practices. Glenn has an unfailing
belief in the power of teamwork and frequently works with executives
and manager to develop high performance leaders, teams and organizations.
He has more than 20 years experience as a successful businessman
in an array of companies, industries and roles. He has worked as
a Business Owner, General Manager, Operations Manager and Human
Resources Manager. In addition to his Lean experience, Glenn has
worked in executive positions in Human Resources and General Management.
Glenn has been credited with saving a number of businesses that
were on the brink of financial or operational collapse.
Glenn holds a bachelors degree in Personnel Administration and
Industrial Relations. Glenn is frequently invited to speak as a
guest lecturer for Universities and other professional associations.
Dave Scott
Dave
has worked as a Vice President of Manufacturing/Engineering and
Vice President of Corporate Planning for a multi-plant metal fabricating
and finishing OEM. He has significant experience in Strategic Planning,
as well as, World Class implementations, including all facets of
work teams, Lean/cellular manufacturing, Kaizen and other continuous
improvement technologies.
Dave’s manufacturing and management background spans over
40 years in industrial engineering, production and inventory control,
manufacturing engineering and related senior leadership positions.
He has expertise in Lean training and implementation, strategic
direction, facilities planning,business development, and the full
range of World Class Manufacturing practices.
Dave holds an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in
Chicago with an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Western
Illinois University. He has been active in the Champions Club of
the AME (Association for Manufacturing Excellence).
John Boyer
John
E. Boyer, Jr., Senior Business Advisor and Consultant, works with
company executive teams, boards, managers and operational experts
from all types of industries to achieve profitable growth and improve
return on investment. He has specialized expertise in Sales, Production
and Inventory planning, Repair/Remanufacturing environments, and
with the selection and implementation of fully integrated and functionally
complete business systems for manufacturing planning and control.
John has 33 years consulting experience with commercial and defense
clients nationally and internationally; seven years as Associate
Professor of Manufacturing Engineering Technology at Weber State
University; and nine years of industrial experience in various materials,
engineering, and top management positions with Rockwell International,
Emerson Electric Company, and Hughes Aircraft.
He received a Master of Business Administration from Utah State
University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from
Lehigh University. He is a registered Professional Engineer and
is certified at the Fellow Level in Production and Inventory Management
by APICS. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars both
national and international.
